This June 3rd, come to the Little Owl, EEF!'s favorite Lake Worth dive bar, with $5-7 in hand for the show (and a little more for beverages) and listen to the talents of:

Money raised goes to Roadblock EF!'s legal fund, used to liberate Hugh & Tiga from jail in April & May.

January 2009 - Thanks to everyone who came and helped out at this great camp! It was a lot of fun and a great success! Special thanks to Iris Wall and family for allowing us to camp at the High Horse Ranch.
September 20th, 2008- Around 70 South Floridians stood
up in defense
of our dying ecosystem and made our voices heard. We met at
Stormwater Treatment Area 1 East in Western Palm Beach County,
a fancy name for a recreation of nature's natural wetland filtration
system. About a dozen of the ralliers had arrived by bicycle, after
an energetic 18 mile group ride. After a rousing rally, we marched
to the entrance
of FPL's West County Energy Center construction site inside the
Palm Beach Aggregates rock mine, a spot which contains two of
the greatest threats to the Everglades ecosystem.

July 11-13, 2008 - As the Gulfstream
Natural Gas pipeline extension neared completion despite legal challenges,
and construction on the West
County Energy Center chugged ahead despite a federal lawsuit and
the on-the-job death of a construction worker, EEF! kept the pressure on FPL to halt these destructive projects.
We camped out on highly visible, public land along Southern Blvd carrying the message
that both projects should be immediately halted and all permits & certification
revoked. We launched canoes and kayaks on public waterways to monitor and
document the progress of the pipeline, since our government agencies
did not seem to be doing an adequate job. Remember, it was EEF! that helped identify unmarked gopher tortoise sites in peril
and pointed out several permit violations, NOT the agencies
assigned to the job.
We took advantage of our location to visit the nearby the recently opened Stormwater Treatment Area 1, where Governor Charlie Crist came in June to announce plans for reviving Everglades restoration efforts - even though just a few miles up the road, the nation's largest fossil fuel power plant was being constructed smack in the middle of CERP projects!
